This session is designed to help business owners prepare for capital-seeking opportunities. Participants work in two groups: one for building a pitch deck (a slideshow sales presentation required for seeking investment partners or loans) and one for practicing an existing pitch. We will explore what must be included in a 10-minute pitch, how to present compelling stories and metrics, and identify what finance professionals seek. Those who practice their pitch will receive 10 minutes to present and receive necessary expert feedback.

This event is ideal for:

• Business owners actively preparing to pitch for capital or investment.
• Business owners who want to refine their current pitch deck or need help building one from scratch.
• Business owners looking to refine an elevator pitch for networking purposes.

At the end of this event, you will:

• Understand the fundamentals of a compelling 10-minute pitch and the specific elements (stats, figures, stories) to include in a pitch deck.
• Learn what specifics potential investors and finance professionals look for in a presentation.
• (For those ready to pitch) Receive honest and critical feedback from seasoned experts to perfect your presentation.

• Arrive on time and communicate whether your goal is to build a deck or practice an existing pitch.
• If ready to pitch, bring your pitch deck, talking points, and be prepared to present.
• If starting to assemble a deck, be prepared to take detailed notes
