JMD began his TV career as a Production Tech at WFLA in Tampa in 1995, serving as research assistant, floor director, camera operator, CG operator, and technical director. After a year as Technical Director for SUNSHINE NETWORK, Marty took a position as On-Air Graphics Supervisor at WUSF, where he directed, as well as trained students in studio & control room operation. Marty joined Chyron in 2002; for 10½ years he served as Product Specialist, Design & Integration Specialist, and Director of Training, becoming the public face of the company.
In 2012, Marty formed The Academy of Lower Thirds and remains dedicated to bringing his team's expertise directly to AcademyL3's clients. Marty graduated from FSU, where he earned a degree in Communication and a minor in Russian. Marty is an 8x Emmy® nominee and 3x winner.
