Supplier Diversity: How to Grow an LGBT-owned Business
If your business is at least 51% or more owned by LGBT individuals and it is not certified by the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), you are missing out on great opportunities to potentially do business with large companies (think Fortune 500) throughout the world as well as with certain federal and local government agencies.
Major global and U.S companies, as well as a growing number of federal and local governmental agencies, have proactive programs in place that encourage external sourcing and procurement opportunities for businesses that have been traditionally underutilized because they are owned by minorities, women, veterans, and LGBT individuals.
The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) & NGLCCNY co-host a Supplier Diversity: How to Grow an LGBT-owned Business Enterprise, sponsored by Microsoft.
NGLCC is the sole certifying entity for businesses that are at least 51% or more LGBT owned and offers its certified businesses the ability to make connections and open doors with large companies, certain government agencies, and each other. Certification by NGLCC as an LGBT Business Enterprise is your key to gain exposure to certain procurement opportunities. In addition to gaining access to key individuals within large companies and government agencies, certification ensures that your company is included in NGLCC’s exclusive database of LGBT Business Enterprises where your business can be viewed by large companies and government agencies.
